A meeting was held Wednesday morning in the Court Room of the City Hall to open and discuss the affidavit ballots.
If you arrive at the polling place, registered and eligible to vote, but your name is not on the official list of registered voters or you left your identification at home, you can vote a provisional ballot. Election officials will attempt to verify your eligibility. If they are able to do so, your vote will be counted like the regular ballots. You may be required to produce your identifying documents, if that was the reason for the affidavit ballot…that tells you what an affidavit ballot is!

Ballots will be certified through county and city information.

Affidavit ballots cased in the wards:
Ward 1—9
Ward 2—9
Ward 3—8
Ward 4 (R)—3
Ward 4 (D)—16

The affidavit ballots are not enough to change the outcome of the primary election held Tuesday.

Commissioner Bill Caughman stated that 29.92% of the registered voters in Magee (2,443) voted in the May 2nd election.

Run-off election will be held Tuesday, May 16th and  everyone will vote at the Civic Center.
