
USA TODAY bestselling author Carolyn Haines is a native of Lucedale, Mississippi where she grew up in the newspaper business. She’s been a writer all of her life, moving from journalism to fiction in the 1980s. She’s published over 80 books in a number of genres, and she’s participated in several of the wonderful Charline McCord/Judy Tucker collaborations on the state she calls her home. Haines was awarded the Harper Lee Aware for Distinguished Writing and the Richard Wright Award for Literary Excellence. Several of her mysteries have been named in the top five mysteries of the year by Library Journal. She has recently retired from teaching fiction writing at a university, but she is an animal activist and runs a small rescue on her farm in Semmes, Alabama.
