Graveside services for Emma Jean Burdine will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Braxton City Cemetery. Burial will follow in the Braxton City Cemetery with Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Burdine, 81, died Saturday, December 24, 2016 at her residence in Abita Springs, Louisiana. She was born Sunday, February 24, 1935.
Mrs. Burdine retired from Home Depot and Sears and Roebuck after twenty five plus years as an assistant manager. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Martin, and Minnie Bell Green Martin; and her husband, Albert Henry Burdine.
Survivors include her son, John Christian Burdine of Abita Springs, Louisiana; and two grandchildren, John Christian Burdine, Jr., of Abita Springs, Louisiana, and Christina Marie Burdine Spell of Slidell, Louisiana.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
